Successful Fall Fiddle Fest The Fall Fiddle Fest, held October 28th, was the most successful yet in the festival’s four year history. Here’s an overview of the Fiddle Fest, by the numbers:

Click here to take a look: Congratulations to the following bands who placed in their respective divisions and won prize money (click the camera icon to view a photo of the group): Small Group Large Group Next year promises to be even bigger and better, so bookmark the Fiddle Fest website and check in occasionally to gather information regarding the Spring Fiddle Fest to be held on April 7, 2007. Christmas Barn Dance We’re pleased to announce the Institute is once again having a Christmas barn dance where all the music for dancing will be set to Christmas carols and songs. This event is a wonderful way to usher in the Christmas spirit. Plan on coming to The Barn in Mapleton on the evening of December 8th for an unforgettable Christmas experience. We hope you'll bring a variety of snacks, (not just sweet ones) to balance out the pot luck table. Please bring your instruments, dancing shoes and a snack to share. The fun will begin at 7:00 so plan on being right on time. Performing Opportunities If anyone is interested in performing at Courtyard at Jamestown, a retirement center, please contact Laurie Smith at 377-3730. Our family has done this before and throughly enjoyed the experience of associating with these lovely people. Another performance opportunity is with the Santaquin Senior Citizens group. They meet at lunchtime on Fridays. If interested, please contact Claudia Peterson at 754-5310. The Institute of American Music was founded in 1993 for the purpose of providing individuals and groups the opportunity to study traditional American and Bluegrass music. It provides a forum for students at all skill levels whereby they may learn from one another through means of individual lessons, group performances and informal workshops. The Institute provides a well-rounded musical experience for those desiring to develop their talents in acoustic music.
