No Barn Dance in July – Here’s a Fun Alternative

We won’t be holding a barn dance in the month of July. We’ll resume again on Friday, August 4th. Please mark this date on your calendar so you won’t miss this last fling before school starts. Please remember to bring a snack to share with your fellow dancers, musicians and friends. The dancing and music will begin at 7:00 p.m. and go until 9:00 p.m..

As a substitute for the July barn dance, consider attending the free street dance associated with the Springville Folk Fest on July 12th at 8:00 p.m. in the Springville Art Museum Parking Lot. Dancers from all over the world will teach a dance native to their country. We attended this event last July and had a marvelous time.

Tennessee Waltz Chords in a New Key For Singing

Below are the chords to Tennessee Waltz in the key of G. This key is much easier to sing than the one in the 50 Tunes book which is in the key of D. Both may be played at the barn dances, so it would be good to become familiar with both versions.

G / Bm / G7 / C / G / Bm / D / D7

G / Bm / G7 / C / G / D /G

G / G7 / C / G / Bm / D / D7

G / Bm / G7 / C / G / D / G

July Jam Session

This month’s jam session will be held on July 20th at 7:00 in room 201 of the Provo Library. The jam sessions provide an informal setting to practice your tunes, rhythm, playing with other musicians and having fun. Please come join us!
