March Jam Session

Come get your Irish eyes a smilin' at this month's jam session on Thursday, March 16th. It will be held at the Provo City Library in room 201 at 7:00. We look forward to another fun evening of music.

Celtic Barn Dance

In honor of St. Patrick's Day, our March barn dance will have a Celtic theme with all tunes originating from Ireland and Scotland. We're even working on getting some Irish Step dancers to come demonstrate their intricate footwork as they dance a jig, reel and hornpipe. Think along the lines of Riverdance, and you'll have an idea of this form of dance.

Mark your calendar for March 3rd at 7:00. We invite you to bring a potluck snack to share - the greener the better with a nod to St. Patrick.

Please prepare the following tunes for the March barn dance:

1- Irish Washerwoman -Virginia Reel
2- Whiskey Before Breakfast -Scatter Square Dance
3- Angus Campbell -Irish Reel
4- Soldier's Joy -Square Dance
5- Uncle Joe (aka Miss McLeod's Reel, Miss McCloud's Reel; from Scotland) -Heel Toe Polka & Cotton-eyed Joe
6- Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing (Irish Air) -Waltz
7- Sailor's Hornpipe -Celtic Hornpipe
8- St. Anne's Reel - (We'll play this one slow and use it for a Schottische, a Celtic dance)
9- La Bastringe -French Canadian (This is technically not Celtic, but was influenced by the Irish and Scottish immigrants that settled in parts of Canada).

Performance Opportunity

The Santaquin Senior Citizens Center is looking for volunteers to perform during their weekly Friday luncheons. If you or your group are interested in performing, please call Jessica Wilkinson at 400-6332 for more information. This is a great opportunity to share music and time with members of the greatest generation.

Tax Relief at The Spring Fiddle Fest

Come celebrate tax day by attending the Spring Fiddle Fest on April 15th in the Provo Library Ballroom at Academy Square. This fun day of music will help take your mind off your tax woes and put a smile on your face.

This event is a performance opportunity not a competition, so there are no entry forms, registration fees or judges to worry about.

Each group should plan on playing three tunes. Slots will fill up quickly, so please call or email Sheri Cluff to reserve your performance time. You can reach Sheri at 489-6836 or via email at

shericluff@justrawspeed.com

Winners will be determined by audience response, so you'll want to bring a large contingent of fans to cheer you on. Pizza certificates will be awarded to winners throughout the day.

That evening a concert featuring the bands Lincoln Highway and Mason Dixon will round out the day of music.

Admission will be $1.00 for the day performances or $5.00 for a full event pass. Evening admission is $5.00 per person or $20.00 per family. All proceeds will go toward purchasing a Fall Fiddle Fest street banner.
