Texas Swing Dance This Friday
Candice & Jimmy Swing Dancing at The Barn
Are you ready for some fun as big as Texas? This Friday, May 4th, our barn dance will feature Texas Swing music for two-stepping, Texas swing, waltzing, maybe even a line dance or two. This will be a great night for dancing, food and Texas style fiddling! Any musicians are welcome to come join the band. I just received the music today (May Day) for you to download: get your Texas Swing Tunes here. (NOTE: This is a compressed file in .ZIP format.) This is pretty late notice to prepare for the dance this Friday, but we’ll probably have another Texas night in the future, so hold on to this music and practice up! The fun will start at 7:00. Please bring a snack to share. Click here for directions to The Barn.
Performance Opportunities
If anyone is interested in performing at The Courtyard at Jamestown, a retirement center, please contact Laurie Smith at 377-3730. Our family has done this before and throughly enjoyed the experience of associating with these lovely people.
Another performance opportunity is with the Santaquin Senior Citizens group. They meet at lunchtime on Fridays. If interested, please contact Claudia Peterson at 754-5310

The Institute of American Music was founded in 1993 for the purpose of providing individuals and groups the opportunity to study traditional American and Bluegrass music. It provides a forum for students at all skill levels whereby they may learn from one another through means of individual lessons, group performances and informal workshops. The Institute provides a well-rounded musical experience for those desiring to develop their talents in acoustic music.
