Jewish Klezmer Music Featured At The April Barn Dance Imagine the music from the musical “Fiddler on the Roof” and you’ll have an idea of the treat you’ll experience on April 4th at The Barn in Mapleton. The BYU Klezmer group, Klezmore, will be the featured band for the April Barn Dance. Easy Jewish Folk dances will be taught and called during the evening. We hope you’ll come experience the joy found in the music and dance of Israel. Please remember to bring a snack to share with your fellow dancers and musicians. American Hoedown at The Barn in May The past few months we’ve had international themes for our barn dances. In March we featured Celtic tunes and in April, the Klezmer band Klezmore, provided the music for our dancing. In the month of May we’re ready to head back to the good old USA for an American Hoedown. Mosey on down to The Barn on May 2nd from 7:00-9:00 for some traditional American music and dance. Please remember to bring a food item to share. This will probably be the last dance until we resume again in the fall, so come enjoy a lovely spring evening at the barn. You’ll love it! The Institute of American Music was founded in 1993 for the purpose of providing individuals and groups the opportunity to study traditional American and Bluegrass music. It provides a forum for students at all skill levels whereby they may learn from one another through means of individual lessons, group performances and informal workshops.
