The Cluffs are a family band that enjoys playing many types of bluegrass and traditional music, adding their own unique style and creating a musical feast for the listener. From traditional tunes and songs, to an occasional Celtic jig or reel, to contemporary folk music, their variety sets them apart from most local groups.  The band has been performing mostly in Utah County for the past 5 years.  They placed 2nd at the 2005 Bluegrass Fiddle Fest in Provo, UT. You might have seen them this past year at Thanksgiving Point, Snowbird, Provo City functions, or at the Price Cultural Connection Summer concert series, where they have been invited for the past 4 years—just to name a few of their recent concerts.  The group just released their second CD, Up and Around the Bend.

Emma (age 11) plays  bass.  She started playing in January when her brother left on his mission.  She is amazing. Emma began playing on electric bass, but recently acquired an acoustic bass.  The day it arrived at home she picked it up and started playing.  Now she switches back and forth deciding which one to play depending on the kind of sound she is looking for.   She loves to draw, and has a pet rabbit, Ben.

Leah (age 13) is the Cluffs’ fiddler. She also sings harmony.  She started playing the fiddle when she was 7.   At the Utah Old Time Fiddlers State Competition she placed 3rd in her division in 2006, and 4th in 2007.  She loves to amaze audiences with her rendition of Orange Blossom Special. Her favorite past time is reading. Leah recently took up volleyball—which she enjoys very much.

Sarah (age 18) plays both the mandolin and guitar, and is the lead vocalist.  She is currently the Old Time Fiddlers state mandolin champion for the second year, and former guitar champion.  This year Sarah is performing with the BYU Folk Music program’s Celtic and Bluegrass ensembles.  Sarah toured this past summer with Clog America, in Italy and Poland. She also recorded a CD with State Fiddle Champion, Daniel Riggs.  In her spare time she loves rock climbing, oil painting, and cooking.  Each Christmas Sarah creates hand dipped, homemade chocolates for her friends.

Sheri is the mom and plays guitar, bodhran (Irish drum), and sings harmony. She is the mother of eight children and grandmother of four, so far. She is the event coordinator for the Institute of American Music Foundation.  Sheri has home schooled all of her children, and, in her spare time, draws portraits of her children, dances with her husband, and maintains a clientele as a licensed massage therapist.
