101 Scottish, Irish & American Fiddle Tunes is a fiddling tune book designed to acquaint violin teachers and young violinists with the fiddle music commonly played in North America and in the British Isles during the past 200 years. The tunes in this book have endured decades and even centuries. Their popularity is understandable once each tune in learned and perfected. Each tune’s melody has an enduring appeal and quality. Click here to view a sample page from the book (Kent, I attached this page below). Many of the tunes have an available harmony part. The harmony parts are available at this website for free download. 101 Scottish, Irish & American Fiddle Tunes is more than a tune book. It is also a study guide for violinists interested in attending fiddle contests, and will serve well as a resource for musical accompaniment to traditional old time barn dancing, New England contra dancing, Irish competition dancing, and Scottish and Irish dance festivals. For more information on these subjects please turn to the appendix of this book. Book 1 contains 26 of 101 overall tunes. The remaining 75 tunes will be presented in three additional books of 25 tunes each. 101 Scottish, Irish, & American Fiddle Tunes for Young Violinists Piano & Guitar Accompaniment contains the accompaniment parts to the 26 tunes in the violin book. The piano parts are in standard notation. Guitar chords with fingerboard diagrams are placed above the piano notation staves.
