Skógafoss is a musical quartet that performs traditional Scandinavian music. The band members are Ellie Geslison on fiddle; Emily Wall on accordion; Geoff Groberg on guitar; and Mark Geslison on octave mandolin. The band’s music repertoire comes from the traditional dance music of Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. The band’s name, Skógafoss comes from Iceland. Mark and Ellie are father and daughter. Mark’s paternal grandparents came from southern Iceland. Their family farmed a large plot of land at the base of Skógafoss—one of Iceland’s most famous and beautiful waterfalls.
